Inchgower
About
Their whisky has a distinctive spicy character originated from a warmer second water during the quick mashing regime which cuts back the nuttiness. The time of the fermentation is rather short and weightier elements are captured by the steeply angled lyne arms on the stills. You can taste a touch of waxiness flashes as a signal to another coastal plant, Clynelish. The original equipment from Tochineal was even used in the establishment of the site.
History
A small distillery built in 1871 by Alexander Wilson and was owned by the local council in 1936 when the Wilson family was bankrupt. It was always an important player of Bell's mixtures, the distilleries of which all share variations on the theme of 'nutty spicy.'
Speyside Region
Although, Speyside was not accepted as an official whisky region it is now generally approved as a subdivision of the Highlands Region. Over half of all Scotland's distilleries are located in here which makes it the most densely populated whisky region in the world. Many of the most popular single malts are produced in Speyside also the malts here are typically said to be the sweetest of all scotch whisky malts. Their whiskies are known for being frugal with peat and full of fruit. Pear, apple, vanilla, honey and spice all have a part a role in expressions from this region, which are commonly matured in sherry casks.
